Protect your family. At all costs.
It’d take the impossible to hurt Connor Cobalt, even for a moment.
Protect your family. At all costs.
At twenty-six, his narcissistic tendencies have made room for the people he loves.
Protect your family. At all costs.
And he loves Rose. But when his love is threatened, when his greatest dreams with her are compromised — what is the cost then?
Protect your family. At all costs.
Love will guide his choices.

FUEL THE FIRE PLAYLIST
These are the songs that inspired us while
writing Fuel the Fire. Some reminds us of the characters, but most we listened
to as we were writing the books.
THE
THEME SONGS
“Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien”
by Edith Piaf – Rose & Connor love French. They often talk to each other
and have “secret” conversations in the language. Edith Piaf’s song captures the
tone and feeling of Fuel the Fire.
There’s this romantic whimsy to it. And the lyrics fit even better (translated
into English): No, nothing of nothing /
No, I regret nothing / Not the good things that have been done to me / Nor the
bad things, it’s all the same to me.
“Fire Meets Gasoline” by
Sia – It was really hard choosing a theme song for this book, so we ended up
picking two. Rose Calloway always describes herself as a volcano. This song
really captures Connor and Rose’s overall dynamic with each other.
THE
FTF SOUNDTRACK
“This Time I Won’t Forget”
by Kongos – We wrote with this song for the second portion of the book. It has
lots of Connor Cobalt feels in it :)
“When I Get My Hands on You”
by The New Basement Tapes – this song has an old soul romance about it, and it
reminds us of the connection between Connor & Rose. Though the song can be
taken as a little “possessive”—there’s definitely equality in the Coballoway
relationship.
“Don’t Shy from the Light”
by Neulore – this is a classic “my heart
is breaking” song.
“Into Gold” by Matthew
and the Atlas – “Into Gold” reminds us a little of Ryke Meadows (the singer’s
vocals just as a Ryke vibe) but the mood fits Fuel the Fire in certain parts, especially
Connor.
“Terrible Love” by The
National – there are a few lines in the
book that fit the spirit of “Terrible Love” quite well and vice versa.
“Every Night” by Josef
Salvat – This song is just sexy. And whenever we think of sexy Coballoway
times, we think of “Every Night.”
“I’m Only Joking” by
Kongos – When we wrote scenes where Connor was being a particular smartass,
we’d switch on this Kongos song.
“Gold” by Chet Faker – A
lot of the early scenes were written to this one. It reminds us of Connor
Cobalt. Lyrics: You gotta know, I'm
feeling love / Made of gold, I'll never love a / Another one, another you / It's
gotta be love I said it
“Drown” by Marika
Hackman – This is one of the songs that we wrote with Rose’s POV. We also love
the tone and the lyrics. Lyrics: Oh I am
bold / As brass posing as gold / You can shine me all you want / But I am hard
as I am cold
“Common People” by Pulp
– We switched “Common People” on when we needed to be in the head of a
narcissist. Some of the end scenes of Fuel the Fire were written to this song.
“Runaway (U&I)” by
Galantis – The party song of the book. Fun times. Check.
“Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)”
by AWOLNATION – Ryke Meadows, anyone? Yep. As soon as he showed up in a scene,
we’d turn this up to full volume.
“Runaway” by AURORA – This song has earthy and yet
slightly sad undertones. Whenever Daisy entered the book, we’d put this song
on. It reminds us of the youngest Calloway sister.
“Burn the Pages” by Sia
– We listened to this one for some of the end scenes. The chorus is so
Coballoway.
“Under Stars” by AURORA – Perfect for any feisty Coballoway
scene. It has a great beat to write to as well.
“Never Been in Love” by Elliphant – Awesome beat and a perfect song
for an uplifting/fun Fuel the Fire scene.
“Saturn” by Sleeping At
Last – The lyrics don’t really fit with the book, so we only listened to the
instrumental portion while writing.

Thank you so much to Krista and Becca for including me in this tour! If I'm being honest Coballoway are my least favourite couple but it's a testament to Krista and Becca's writing that I'm super excited for it. I have to say, my favourite from this playlist is definitely Non, Je Ne Regrette Nien; both the song and the lyrics feel so Coballoway to me, from the French to the very message of not regretting anything: giving up Wharton? I hope you enjoy the rest of the tour you can see it here.

Krista & Becca Ritchie are identical twins—one a science nerd, the other a comic book geek—but with their shared passion for writing, they combined their mental powers as kids and have never stopped telling stories. Now in their early twenties, they write about other twenty-somethings navigating through life, college, and romance. They love superheroes, flawed characters, and soul mate love.
They are the New Adult authors of the Addicted series and Calloway Sisters spin-off series, and you can find them on almost every social media, frolicking around like wannabe unicorns.
