A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.
A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy.
A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive.
A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
We Were Liars is a modern, sophisticated suspense novel from National Book Award finalist and Printz Award honoree E. Lockhart.
Read it. And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE.
Having read The Ruby Oliver series, there was no doubts in my mind that this would be an amazing book. However it exceeded all expectations. The final twist is such a game changer I actually sat in shock for a good five minutes replaying all the obvious moments that had happened previously.
I hope to get this blog to the point where you realise 5 stars is a really important rating but for now, please believe me when I tell you that this book is beyond amazing.
I refuse to even go into vague details about what happened because it is just that amazing and it's a journey that you would genuinely love to go on alone.
I will say that you do feel the suspense all throughout the novel, you don't really realise that you had been until you finish.
